STEMM Strolls – aiming to bring STEMM students and professionals together in regional areas. Local get togethers to find new networks, find mentors, and support groups especially in regional areas where it is hard to do so.
Do you struggle with Networking? If you do, you’re not alone. ‘A global survey of nearly 6,000 LinkedIn users found nearly 80% of professionals consider networking to be crucial to career success but almost 40% find it hard to do’ (Ned Smith, Kellogg Insight). Our panel of professional women will provide you with some tips and tricks to relax and improve your networking skills.
Networking doesn’t have to feel transactional or awkward. If you’re a student, a recent graduate, or early-career professional, this event will equip you with the tools to network smarter.
Sharing intersecting diverse experiences from the women in STEMM community through STEMM Strolls provides an opportunity to strengthen the status of women and girls in STEMM. Bringing the community together is a step in the right direction for gender equality.
On 1 November, Board Director Dr Nikki Sims-Chilton hosted a STEMM Stroll on the Sunshine Coast (Qld).
On 1 November, Dr Priya Rani, Board Director led this large walk through La Trobe University Bendigo Campus (Vic).
On 30 October, Dr Morley Muse, Board Directed hosted a STEMM Stroll in Ballarat (Vic).
On 29 October, Sarah Chapman, Co-Chair led Qld’s first STEMM Stroll in her hometown of Townsville.
