Q&A

What’s a problem in your field that keeps you up at night, and why does it matter to you personally?

The growing gap between scientific evidence and public understanding. In a world of misinformation and information overload, effective science communication is critical. Personally, I’m passionate about ensuring people can access, trust and use science to make informed decisions that benefit society

When have you taken a risk in your career, and what did you learn from it (regardless of the outcome)?

Becoming an advisor to a Minister was one of the biggest risks in my career. The political environment presented a steep learning curve, but it taught me to navigate complexity, communicate strategically, and make decisions under pressure while staying focused on delivering meaningful outcomes.

What’s a small, everyday habit or mindset that has made a big difference in how you approach your work?

Everyone has a story to tell!

What role does creativity play in your work, and how do you nurture it?

Creativity is at the heart of science communication. My role is to transform complex scientific concepts into stories, messages and experiences that are accessible, engaging and meaningful for diverse audiences. I nurture creativity by staying curious and listening to different perspectives.

What is the thing you enjoy most about your role?

The opportunity to work with scientists across a wide range of disciplines and learn about their research. Every project offers new insights and perspectives, and I find great satisfaction in helping translate their work into meaningful stories that connect with and inspire others.
