STEMM Strolls – aiming to bring STEMM students and professionals together in regional areas. Local get togethers to find new networks, find mentors, and support groups especially in regional areas where it is hard to do so.
Sharing intersecting diverse experiences from the women in STEMM community through STEMM Strolls provides an opportunity to strengthen the status of women and girls in STEMM. Bringing the community together is a step in the right direction for gender equality.
The stroll will commence and end at iAccelerate at the University of Wollongong. This is on the free Gong Shuttle route or there is paid parking at the Science Space. If you prefer you can park for free near Fairy Meadow SLSC and join us as we walk by (approx. 7.45am). We will then work along the Puckey Reserve Path and back along Squires Way to iAccelerate where there will be light refreshment, coffee and networking time.
Women in STEMM Australia acknowledge the Traditional Owners and Custodians of country throughout Australia. We pay our respects to Elders past and present. First Nations people have practised science for over 65,000 years. Our first scientists passed on the lessons of the land, sea and sky, to the future scientists of today through stories, song and dance. They call this caring for Country. If you care for Country, the Country will care for you.
